Hat Wearing, Bespectacled, Camera Ninja!

Hi, I’m Aaron, and I’m just a little bit obsessed with taking photos! I was first drawn to being a photographer as it meant I didn’t need to be in any photos.  I hate having my photo taken! To the point where I don’t actually think there are any photos of me between the ages of 14 to 25. The advantage of that is nobody will ever know how bad my teenage and early 20’s hair styles were – or my lack of fashion taste.  I bought my first ‘proper’ camera back in 2005 and have had a love affair with photography ever since. Having first started off taking photos of landscapes, architecture and live music events I realised that its actually photographing people that is where I’m at my most content. I feel very privileged to be able to make a living out of something that I’m so passionate about.

I live in Northamptonshire with my wife Tina. We married on the tenth of the tenth, twenty ten (10/10/10) maybe just so it would be really easy to remember anniversaries. Tina is my everything, my best friend, my soul mate and is just the most amazing person I know. Together we have two gorgeous but extremely mischievous furkids Alfie and Bruno who must be the most photographed dogs in the country! They also keep me company during the week when I’m at home working.

Aside from photography I like to relax by listening to music – ok, so I’ll own up – I’m an obsessive music snob. I’m huge fan of Pink Floyd, but appreciate anything from Air to Zepplin, and if its on vinyl then even better! My top 10 favourite albums are listed below.  Any of your favourites in their too?  I’m rather partial to gin (that is actually a big understatement!), strong cups of tea, and full English breakfasts. I love a good movie being particularly fond of Alfred Hitchock films, especially if they star Grace Kelly or Ingrid Bergman – again, just because I love lists I’ve included my 10 favourite films below.  Are there any others you’d recommend I should watch?

For my sins I’m a supporter of Aston Villa football club, I don’t like gardening much and I really hate sneezing! Tina thinks I’ve got far too many pairs of adidas and converse trainers – she’s probably right. Hats!  I’ve got loads of them.  It’s the one advantage of being a baldy!  I love wearing hats – always have, even when I had ample hair.  Its very rare for me not to be wearing a hat – and my mum often tells me off for wearing a hat at the dinner table… sorry!

For any camera geeks reading this until very recently I’d exclusively used Nikon equipment for photographing weddings.  However, during 2018 I headed over to the dark side and join the mirrorless camera revolution.  Fully transitioned over to Sony cameras and lenses for weddings.  In the past I’ve also had Fuji X cameras – sold them all – and an Olympus camera and a few lenses – sold it all too!  I’m always happy to have a proper in-depth chat with like minded camera geeks so get in touch!

Feel free to get in touch if there’s anything else you’d like to know. You can do this via the Contact page or by connecting with me on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.
