Frequently Asked Questions

How long will you photograph for?
As a rough guide I usually start photographing 2-3 hours prior to the ceremony and shoot right into the evening to capture the dancing.

We’d like a few group photos, is that ok?
Formal group photos are a must.  These are so important for families so that in years to come you can look back and see those who you are closest to.  We would run through ahead of the wedding which formal group photos you would like and then work to make these happen as quickly as possible.  I advise that 5-8 formal family group photos in addition to some funky shops of you both with your bridesmaids and groomsman. Too many formal group photos and you’ll start getting frustrated that you’re not out there having fun with your guests.

Do we get full rights to our photos?
All my packages include your wedding day images in high resolution on a USB stick. As standard I retain copyright to the images however you have full reproduction rights of the images meaning you can print and share the images as you wish.  Additionally I also post a selection of images to a password protected gallery which you can then share with family and friends – and they can also order prints directly from that gallery.

How soon after our wedding will we see our photos?
After the wedding day your photos will be professionally edited and processed and you will receive your images in high resolution on a USB stick within 4-6 weeks.  I’ll also tend to post a few teaser photos as soon after the wedding day as possible.  This way you’ll be able to see how awesome your day was without waiting too long.

How many photos will we get?
I don’t limit the number of images you’ll receive so the number really varies for each wedding.  As a general rule you’ll receive at least 500 images but in most cases it’s a lot more. Additionally every wedding I photograph is posted to a password protected gallery which you can share with your family and guests.

Do you back up everything?
Absolutely!  I’m totally obsessive about making sure your wedding day images are safe. The cameras I shoot on have two card slots.  This enables me to instantly have a back up of the images I’m taking on the day.  Once I’m back to my office the photos are downloaded to my main working drive.  They’re also backed up to my network storage drive which is in turn backed up to the Cloud.

We love the idea of an album, is this something you provide?
The album package is very popular, and the album itself is simply beautiful. Images are printed directly onto top quality fine art paper and then bound with a leather cover in various colour choices. I’ll bring examples of the albums I provide to a consultation meeting so you can see how yummy they are! Take a look here for more information about my albums.

Could we have a Pre-Wedding Shoot?
I love shooting pre-wedding shoots.  Its a great way to get to know you both ahead of your wedding day, as well as for you to get some great informal portraits at a location that has special meaning to you.  They’re also really beneficial if you are feeling a little apprehensive about having your photo taken.  You’ll soon see that we just have a load of fun whilst creating some awesome photos of you both.  Take a look at some pre-wedding photos here.

We’re getting married abroad, do you fancy joining us and shooting it?
Hell yeah!  I’ve a passport and very happy to travel further afield to shoot weddings.  To date I’ve photographed weddings in Italy and the Greek island of Kefalonia.  This year I’m back to Kefalonia as well as weddings in South of France and Portugal.  Click here to check out more information about me being your destination wedding photographer
