Destination Wedding Photographer

So you’re getting married abroad?  Looking for a Destination Wedding Photographer? Awesome! Destination weddings are becoming more and more popular and its pretty clear to see why. Lets face it, you can’t guarantee great weather during the British summer time so why not have your amazing day abroad! Plus, with flights to certain European destinations being priced so reasonably why wouldn’t you!

I’m no stranger to destination weddings having had the absolute honour to photograph weddings a little bit further afield than dear old blighty. I’ve a current passport (you know one with those awesome little chips in so you can beat the long queues at the airport) and happy to jump on a plane and document your wedding day. I’ve been so lucky to so far photograph weddings in Italy, Kefalonia, Madeira (Porto Santo), France and America.

Many companies who organise destination weddings will source a wedding photographer for you, but how do you know that they’re the right photographer for you?  You’ll still want have someone to capture the day with the same attention to detail that you would if you were getting married at home, to be on the look out for those special moments. Not to mention someone to create some stunning portraits of you both with a backdrop that you fell in love with and made you book your wedding abroad in the first place. So pick me… I’m your guy!

Depending on the frequency of flights I generally aim to head out to your chosen destination one or two days prior to the wedding.  This gives the opportunity to meet you both the day or evening before and if possible visit the wedding day locations. Heading out earlier means there is always the option of doing a pre-wedding shoot somewhere completely different to what would be available back home.  Imagine beautiful portraits on the tops of mountains, or by the beach, or in a rustic village, or modern cityscape.

Quite a few destination weddings that I’ve photographed have also had a pool party or BBQ either a couple of days ahead of the wedding or the day after.  Why not extend the wedding by a couple of days? After all, you’re family and friends are probably going to be out there with you making a bit of a holiday out of the occasion. So, if that’s the case let me know and we can chat about getting some photos of that too!

Pricing for destination weddings is exactly the same as it is for a wedding in England – the only thing I ask of you is that my travel and accommodation is covered for the time that I’m with you. Its as simple as that! If you’re contemplating booking with an additional photographer then that can work really well. My wife Tina very often travels with me to destination weddings and is a bit nifty with a camera too!  She’s also pretty good at filming so if you’re also wanting a highlights film of your day then let us know as that is something we also offer.

Ultimately, whether its just me or I’m joined by Tina filming or photographing, we like to think of ourselves as friends with cameras. There to get right in to the action and document the energy, excitement, colour and happiness of your destination wedding.

Below is a small selection of images from destinations weddings from the past couple of years. So take a little browse and get in touch chat a bit more about your plans.
