The Wedding of Amanda & CJ
This is Amanda & CJ’s Nottingham wedding from last summer. CJ, who is also my cousin, got in touch with me at the beginning of 2015 to chat about his and Amanda’s wedding. Their marriage ceremony took place at Rolleston Church with the wedding reception taking place in a marquee on Amanda’s parent’s farm in Morton, Nottinghamshire.
I started the day by meeting up with CJ and his groomsmen busy getting ready, polishing shoes and trying to figure out how to fix button holes to the suits. Once done there I headed to the farm to see Amanda and the girls and get some shots of them all before heading to the church. The weather on the day was very erratic with heavy downpours of rain followed by sun and then rain and then sun again…! So much so that some guests arrived at the church in the rain, others arrived in the sunshine!
I’d managed to have a quick chat with the vicar when he arrived at the church. Sadly he wasn’t that keen on me taking photos during the service. With a little bit of ‘charm’ I managed to convince him to allow me to take a few photos. I was glad I’d been given the green light to take some photos as I’m pretty sure the capture which immediately followed the first kiss is my favourite all time church ceremony photo. You’ll know it when you see it.
Amanda and CJ’s families and friends left the church under some big rain showers and headed off to the farm for drinks and nibbles. Thankfully, not long after arriving at the farm rain stopped and the sun started shining. This meant we could get a few family group photos taken and some portraits around the farm before the wedding breakfast and speeches.
Into the evening people danced the night away to a ceilidh band and a DJ. Here’s a few photos from their day.
