Emma & Richard’s English Summer Fete Wedding
Let me share with you a fun filled wedding from the summer of 2016. When I first met up with Emma & Richard told me that their day would be like an English Summer Fete Wedding complete with games and lots and lots and lots of food. Well they didn’t disappoint and they achieved their vision completely. Their marriage ceremony took place at the beautiful church in Great Houghton, Northamptonshire. Straight after the ceremony in the beautiful summer sunshine they did that most English of things and had a cup of tea – perfect!
After a few portraits Emma & Richard joined their family and friends at The Barns at Hunsbury Hill. I’d photographed weddings here on a number times previously but since I’d last been there a number of significant improvements had taken shape. Its a great venue for something just that little bit different and quirky. Plenty of scope to put your own mark on the place for your big day.
Dotted around the venue Emma & Richard had set up a number of classic village fete games including a coconut shy, hook a duck, a hoopla area, and even an area for sack races! Lots to keep the guests entertained.
As for the food…! Well the day started with pancakes during bridal prep, there was an amazing ice cream and milkshake vendor (they were insanely good), the wedding breakfast was Afternoon Tea of sandwiches and cakes – and then in the evening guests were treated to pizzas and crepes… What a wedding to be invited to! Anyway, I’ve possibly rambled on for far too long so lets get right to a few images from the day.
If you’re planning your own cool and quirky wedding I’d love to hear about it so get in touch and lets chat about me photographing it for you!
