Church & Marquee Garden Wedding – Emily & Simon

The wedding of Emily & Simon back in August last year was a monumentous occasion for me as it was the 200th wedding that I’d photographed.  And boy Emily & Simon made it a wedding that I won’t forget in a very long time.  I’d first met them both back in 2016 at Lucy & Sam’s wedding (click here to see their wedding on the blog!) as Sam is Simon’s brother. One of my favourite photos from Lucy & Sam’s wedding is the photo of Emily catching the wedding bouquet after Lucy has thrown it.  So it was pretty exciting to receive an email from Simon asking if I’d shoot his and Emily’s wedding day.

Their Church & Marquee Garden Wedding took place entirely in the gorgeous Buckinghamshire village of Preston Bissett.  The wedding ceremony at St John the Baptist Church in the village. Straight after the ceremony their family and friends were treated to ice creams whilst they awaited transport to the reception.  The rest of the day was held at Emily’s parent’s home where a marquee had been set up in the garden.  Guests could either take the short walk or arrive in style – on the back of a trailer pulled by bright red vintage tractors.

An important guest at the wedding was a very new member to the family.  Pip the Dachshund, Emily & Simon’s dog who had literally joined the family just a week or so earlier, provided plenty of entertainment and kept the page boys out of mischief!  The marquee looked amazing, full of colour and vintage details. But the most important thing to mention here was the incredible Gin Bar that had been set up.  So many different gins for guests to try out including a good few of my favourite gins… its a shame I was on duty and not able to have a tipple myself.

The evening entertainment came courtesy of the boys from Posh Parties who provided a cracking disco. And, just in case wedding guests were a little bit peckish in the evening they were treated to a mobile fish and chip van.  Talk about spoilt!  Right, enough of my rambling – scroll down and take a look at some of my favourite images from the day.  If you’re looking for a Buckinghamshire Wedding Photographer then get in touch and see if I’m available to photograph your amazing wedding day.
