Shropshire Wedding – Becky & Charlie

Its quite amazing that I’m only just blogging Becky & Charlie’s Shropshire Wedding. As this is quite honestly one of my favourite weddings that I’ve ever photographed. It was my first Shropshire wedding and what an amazing place it is. I was fortunate enough to photograph another Shropshire wedding last year (one which I’ll blog soon I promise) and it re-affirmed to me how beautiful the county really is.

Becky & Charlie’s wedding took place in August of 2017. The majority of the day took place at Becky’s family home of Plaish Park Farm near to the village of Church Stretton set in the beautiful Shropshire hills. A stunning marquee was set up in the grounds of the garden, and the outside space filled with seating areas, outside bar and mood lighting for the evening.

For Charlie and the rest of the groomsmen the day started with a brisk walk in the Shropshire Hills, whilst Becky and her bridesmaids had a far more relaxed morning getting ready for the events of the day. The ceremony took place at St James’s Church in nearby Cardington. Following the ceremony Charlie & Becky drove back to the farm in a beautiful Jaguar XK120 – check out the photos below!  Its a stunner…

Then back at the farm guests were treated to plenty of drink and food, with the perfect weather for catching up with old friends and family. I was spoilt for choice when it came to backdrops for the portraits. As I quite often do with summer weddings, I had two mini portrait sessions. Firstly when guests were arriving at the farm when we headed up in to the fields to capture some portraits with the Shropshire Hills in the background. Then later in the evening I captured a few portraits in the gardens before being whisked away by Charlie and Becky in their 4×4 to the most beautiful of locations within the farm. Just as the sun was setting we found ourselves in the middle of nowhere surrounded by fields and hills for some beautiful portraits.

Guests were entertained with the speeches for sure! The father of the bride got up with his guitar and sang, Charlie rapped, and the best men pretty much did a full on comedy skit… it was incredible.  Into the evening, well that was when the real drinking started! An ice sculpture in the shape of a bear was present and used to ply guests with Jägermeister. The day was without doubt, one of the most epic wedding days I’ve had the fortune to photograph. If every Shropshire Wedding is like this then I wanna shoot more of them!

Take a look below at some of my favourite images from the day.

Thank you to Becky & Charlie for having me there to capture your amazing wedding day. I loved every minute of it.
