Lets head back to the summer of 2018 to Natalie & Mark’s wedding, at Escheat Farm in Bedfordshire.
Oh summer of 2018 how we loved you! Consistently warm sunny weather, and the men’s football World Cup where the nation came together for a little bit of hope that we were at least going to get to a World Cup Final. So with England progressing well brides and grooms up and down the country were probably hoping that their wedding day didn’t fall on the day of a crucial football match. Well, for Natalie & Mark their wedding day fell on England’s quarter final match against Sweden.
The weather on the day was incredible. Super hot and super sunny – just what everyone dreams of for a summer wedding with an outdoor ceremony and a marquee festival vibe. The day started with an early ceremony in the beautiful orchard at Escheat Farm followed by guests enjoying drinks and music in the garden area. The wedding breakfast took place in a spectacular Pole Marquee provided by Funky Monkey Tents.
Kick off between England and Sweden started at 3pm during the wedding breakfast and the DJ had the football commentary played over the sound system so that everyone could keep up with the action. Speeches conveniently took place during the half time break – by which point England were ahead by 1 goal. Following the speeches play (and commentary) resumed. A second goal to England calmed the nerves of the football fans during the rest of the wedding breakfast. And when the final whistle was blown everyone was ecstatic and joined in a good ole’ rendition of Three Lions (Footballs Coming Home). Much to the surprise of Natalie & Mark there was even an exact replica of the FIFA World Cup Trophy that was handed around – perfect for photos.
The vibe for the rest of the day was fantastic with lots of laughter, smiles and happiness. Into the evening guests were treated to rustic pizzas made on the back of an old LandRover and had plenty of fun in the mobile Photo Booth which turned up.
