Stationers Hall Wedding – Naomi & Luke

This is the Stationers Hall Wedding of Naomi & Luke which took place during the summer of 2017. I do love a good London Wedding and this one was no exception.  Naomi & Luke married at The Church of St Martin within Ludgate. A fantastic church which was rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wrenn and is just a short walk away from Wrenn’s most famous of building’s St Paul’s Cathedral.  In fact St Paul’s Cathedral was able to feature in Naomi & Luke’s photos in a way that I’d have never thought possible.  The weekend of their wedding  also happened to fall on the weekend of the RideLondon event. As a result Ludgate Hill road was already closed off to traffic passing through. So… when you’re in a wedding dress and accompanied by your father and an entourage of bridesmaids it seems only fitting to walk in the middle of the road with St Paul’s Cathedral majestically positioned in the background.

Wedding guests were treated to a little bit of a surprise during the ceremony itself.  As Naomi & Luke had arranged for hymns to be sung by an amazing gospel choir (members of which were positioned within the wedding guests, and would stand up to sing only just as their part was about to start. Remember that scene from Love Actually?).  The singing was sensational.

After the ceremony itself all guests headed out the back of the church and into Stationers Hall where there is a lovely courtyard – almost like a secret garden in the middle of a bustling city centre. Despite there being a little bit of rain during the drinks reception (this was the summer of 2017 – it pretty much rained at every wedding I photographed during the summer holidays) the plan to do the wedding speeches outside was stuck to and worked out perfectly.

In between showers I managed to get some time with Luke and Naomi to explore the streets nearby to get a few portraits of them both.  My favourite spot just across the road from Stationers Hall is the Paternoster Vents which is always a great backdrop for some awesome portraits – even if you do get told off by jobsworth security men!  Into the evening everyone got involved with the ceilidh dancing, photo booth and disco dancing.

Planning your own London Wedding?

Many thanks to Naomi and Luke for having me along to capture the day for them both – I thoroughly enjoyed it.  If you’re planning your own Stationers Hall wedding or indeed a London wedding then get in touch and lets chat.
