Today on the blog is the Dodmoor House Wedding of Katie & David. It’s always really special when you photograph a friends wedding and this one was no different. I’ve known Katie for many years as we first met through work back when I worked in Quality Assurance and Risk Management (ha ha, I know right… quite a difference to wedding photography). When I first started getting serious about wedding photography I remember Katie saying to me early on that no matter what, I’d be photographing her wedding. And she stuck true to her word. I’ve also had the pleasure of photographing a number of family portrait shoots with Katie and David as their family grew with their two boys Jamie and Jack.
So on to the wedding itself. Katie and David chose one of my favourite Northamptonshire wedding venues, Dodmoor House. Katie wore a Stella York dress from Dress Me Pretty in Hinckley. David and his groomsmen wore Ted Baker suits. The amazing flowers were by the hugely talented Julie Anna Flowers. Their wedding cake was made by Katie’s friend Nicki of Sweet Cake Designs and the canapés and wedding breakfast food was by Lemon Zest.
The weather was perfect for football obsessed Jamie and Jack to get down to playing football once the page boy duties were completed. Another advantage of photographing a friend from your previous workplace was seeing a number of former colleagues of mine during the day and evening. Great to see a few familiar faces. Anyway, enough of the chat, you just want to see the photos…!
If you’re planning a wedding at Dodmoor House then get in touch as I love shooting there and would love to hear about your plans.
